In 2019 we saw the growing urgency surrounding climate change and crisis that dominated every headline in news around the world. The subject continued to be brought to our attention. Everyone from natural historian David Attenborough to environmental activist Greta Thunberg were onboard, it seemed every generation had an invested concern about the current state of planet Earth.
A trip to New York City this year saw my producers and I notice right away the initiatives the people of the city were making to combat climate change. From government programmes taught to children in schools and environmental awareness implemented in workplaces, to organisations and businesses launching innovative projects in the hopes of creating a sustainable future. We were quick to learn that NYC is for sure a leader in climate action.
My team and I were stoked to have nabbed interviews with some great people – namely from the United Nations, New York chapter of Extinction Rebellion, UpRose and Earth Day Network. Two Producers proceeded onto Iceland and the U.K to shoot climate change protests, demonstrations, strikes and related content. We are in production stage with our documentary, and hope to do more filming in New Zealand over the 2020 / 2021 summer.
We are passionate about climate action and how we can effect positive changes in our current climate crisis. Documentary coming soon in 2021.
